Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account and use Zing Spring, we collect:

Zing Spring supports multiple secure authentication options:

Apple HealthKit Integration (Optional)
If you choose to enable HealthKit integration, Zing Spring will:
- Request permission to read water data from your Health app
- Request permission to write your logged water intake to your Health app
- Store no HealthKit data on our servers; data flows directly between the app and Apple's Health app
Information from Apple HealthKit
When you grant HealthKit permissions, we can access:
- Historical water intake data from your Health app
- Timestamps of water consumption events
- Units of measurement (ounces, milliliters, cups, etc.)
This data is used solely to display your complete water tracking history and synchronize data between Zing Spring and your Health app.
Automatically Collected Information
- App Usage Data: Features accessed, frequency of app use, session duration
- Device Information: iOS version, device model, app version
- Crash and Error Logs: Information about app crashes or errors to help us improve stability
How We Use Your Data
Core App Functionality
- Displaying your personal water intake history and statistics

Leaderboard and Group Features
- Your username and water intake totals are displayed on leaderboards you join
- Friends and group members can see your total water intake (configured by your privacy settings)

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where legally required to retain certain records.
Apple HealthKit Integration
How HealthKit Works with Zing Spring
HealthKit integration is entirely optional. If you choose to enable it:
- iOS will display a permission prompt asking you to authorize Zing Spring to access your Health data
- You control exactly which data categories Zing Spring can access
- You can modify or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings
HealthKit Data Handling
Important: HealthKit data is NOT stored on our servers. The data flow works as follows:
- Zing Spring reads your water intake data directly from your Health app
- When you log water in Zing Spring, we can write this to your Health app
- Your Health data remains on your device and is protected by Apple's security
- We only access the data when you use the app
Privacy with HealthKit

Leaderboard & Group Privacy
Data Visibility on Leaderboards
When you join a leaderboard or group in Zing Spring:
- Your username is visible to other members of that group or leaderboard
- Your total water intake for the competition period is visible to other members
- Other users can see your rank and performance metrics
Controlling Your Privacy
- You choose whether to join groups and leaderboards
- You can leave a group or leaderboard at any time
- Only members of a specific group can see your group-specific data
- Your daily water intake logs are private; only totals are displayed
Friend Connections
If you add friends to Zing Spring, they may see your water intake totals on shared leaderboards. You control which friends you connect with and which groups you participate in.
Your Rights and Choices
Access Your Data
You have the right to access, review, and export the personal information we hold about you. Contact us at dave@davenadkarni.com to request your data.
Update or Correct Your Information
You can update your username, email, and password directly within the Zing Spring app at any time.
Delete Your Account
You can delete your Zing Spring account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:
- Your personal information will be removed from our servers
- Your water intake data will be deleted
- Your username will no longer appear on leaderboards
- We retain minimal records for legal and tax compliance purposes
Opt Out of Data Collection
- You can disable app usage analytics in your device settings
- You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings
- You can choose not to join leaderboards or groups if you prefer privacy
Do Not Track
Zing Spring respects your device-level privacy settings and does not track you across other apps or websites.
